The W Bangkok 2025 mooncake packaging is a masterclass in modern storytelling through structural design, utilizing the imagery of a snake shedding its skin to symbolize a fresh start and the arrival of a new season.
Rooted in lunar folklore and reimagined with W Bangkok’s electrifying luxury attitude, the commission transcends traditional holiday confectionery presentation. By converting the packaging lid into a fully playable Selene Serpent board game, JIGSAWS GROUP established an experiential ritual that invites guests to linger at the salon table long after the last pastry has been savored.

Material and Construction Techniques
The box is constructed using a premium rigid board technique wrapped in bespoke tactile cotton-linen buckram paper, chosen for its archival resilience and rich hand-feel. Precision Die-Cutting: The internal drawers and the integrated game board components are die-cut with microscopic precision, ensuring velvet-smooth drawer gliding, seamless magnet closure engagement, and immaculate edge alignment across all four interlocking panels.
Embellishment and Branding
The ‘W Bangkok’ logo and certain accents of the snake illustrations feature a multi-level sculpted matte gold metallic foil juxtaposed against a spot ultraviolet gloss varnish finish. This creates a tactile duality reminiscent of serpentine scales catching nocturnal moonbeams. Every bespoke game piece was turned from certified sustainable teakwood and cured optical acrylic, individually stamped with the maison seal.
